#LiveLoveAfrica

- Not everyone in Africa hates gays. Share your story.

Every day, on isanyoneinafrica.com, we receive calls and messages from young men and women in Nigeria and nearby African countries, who are extremely depressed and about to commit suicide because they face real threats from family and friends on account of their sexuality. In a subconscious effort to find belonging and acceptance, some engage in risky sexual behavior, contract HIV and other STIs. They have no safe space; no one to talk freely and openly to. However, we know better. We know that not all Africans hate on same gender loving, SGL, folks.  We know of people whose empathy for SGL has not been clouded by homophobia. We know amazing individuals, real Africans, who do not claim to understand the issue of sexual diversity in its entirety, but are ready to provide a safe space for all.  They show up for us. They speak up for us. They are not on the fence. They believe that It is 'un-african' to hate.  #LiveLoveAfrica was created to celebrate the stories of these brave ones.

Do you have a gay friend or family in Africa and you think they deserve to be loved as anyone else?  Shoot us a one-minute video and tells us your own story. How your perspective to sexuality changed. How you see things. Or simply write your own story with
#LiveLoveAfrica, click to submit or send to isanyoneinafrica@gmail.com and we will share it.
